A stay in hospital is always an exhausting and stressful situation. Without communication possibilities, however, the burden increases even more. This is further increased if there is also a language barrier. The multilingual clinic panels create a low-threshold bridging of temporary and/or permanent speech and language disorders with foreign-language patients. They can be used quickly and represent an improvement in communication for clients in the care/clinic sector. Vor dem Hintergrund der aktuellen Flüchtlingssituation in Europa wurde ein zweisprachiges Kommunikationsheft entwickelt, um auch geflüchteten Menschen mit ausgewählten Themen und den dazugehörigen Symbolen (PCS-Thinline) Unterstützung im Sprechen und Verstehen zu leisten. Die Beschriftung der Symbole ist Arabisch-Deutsch. Kommunikation bedeutet immer Interaktion zwischen zwei oder mehr Menschen. Deshalb soll das Heft im Hosentaschenfornat (DIN A6) nicht nur geflüchteten Menschen helfen sich mitzuteilen, sondern auch allen potenziellen GesprächspartnerInnen wie zum Beispiel medizinischem Personal, VerkäuferInnen, MitarbeiterInnen von Behörden oder auch Nachbarn oder ganz einfach Freunden. Ganz bewusst ist dieses Heft deshalb dialogisch aufgebaut: Der Nutzer / die Nutzerin kann z.B. über sich erzählen, aber auch Fragen stellen, wie es dem Anderen geht oder welche Interessen er oder sie hat. In der Situation „Beim Arzt“ kann das medizinische Personal dem/der HeftnutzerIn zeigen, was passieren wird, um Ängste oder Reaktionen zu vermeiden, die sich aus individuell empfundenen Grenzüberschreitungen ergeben könnten. Um die Akzeptanz zu erhöhen, gibt es jeweils eine Fassung für Frauen und für Männer, die sich auch inhaltlich unterscheiden. Neben der Leserichtung des Arabischen von rechts nach links wurde auch die Blätterrichtung angepasst.

If you fold out the set, you have two symbol-based boards with which the most important information ("I have pain") and needs ("It's uncomfortable") can be quickly communicated and specified (pain - neck). In addition, information on aids and treatment can be entered. In addition to a pain scale, the fourth interface includes a table of letters that the patient can use to communicate with his or her environment. The four pages at a glance:Page 1 is intended for severely impaired persons or persons with unclear states of consciousness. Page 2 and 3 can be used for people with an understanding of symbols. Page 4 offers an alphabet board with pain scale for people who communicate by means of written language. The pages are laminated so that they are easy to clean and disinfect - and therefore easy to use in everyday hospital life. The spiral binding simplifies handling and ensures that the pages are always at hand together. The information is entered with the foil pen and can be easily removed at any time. The set includes five copies of the boards and a foil pen.
